The Rolex Milgauss was first introduced in 1956 with the ref. 6541, designed for scientists needing a watch resistant to strong magnetic fields. It remained in production until 1988 and was relaunched in 2007 with the ref. 116400GV featuring a black "anniversary" dial, followed by a blue edition seven years later.
The colourful Milgauss dial combines white, orange, and green elements, with a lightning bolt seconds hand and baton hour and minute hands. The 116400GV model is distinguished by a green sapphire crystal, or "glace verte," giving the dial a unique green halo, unlike the discontinued non-GV ref. 116400.
Its 40mm stainless steel case has a smooth bezel and a large crown, paired with a stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Comparable in comfort to the 41mm Datejust and Oyster Perpetual, the Milgauss is versatile for both sporty and formal occasions, or long days in the lab.
