Forged carbon, ceramic, titanium – the ‘Bumblebee’ Offshore (ref. 26176FO.OO.D101CR.02) still feels ahead of its time. A 42 mm carbon mid-case keeps weight down while the black ceramic bezel and pusher caps shrug off desk diving scars; thickness is a trim 14.7 mm, so it sits lower than most steel Offshores of the era.
This later “.02” iteration gained Super-Luminova on the Arabic numerals and hands, giving a vivid green glow that the original “.01” lacked. Underneath, a PVD-coated stainless-steel back seals the case – a choice driven by carbon’s intolerance of conventional gaskets rather than cost saving. Production ran only from 2009 to 2012, and although never officially numbered, capacity-limits of AP’s 12.5-tonne forging presses kept volumes modest.
The factory hornback alligator strap (black with yellow stitching) completes the high-contrast scheme.
