The 15300ST.OO.1220ST.02 sits at that once-and-gone 39 mm sweet spot. A 9.4 mm case, sapphire back and the original blue Grande Tapisserie keep the ‘70s geometry intact, yet the screw-down crown quietly lifts water-resistance to 50 m—so a casual splash in the pool won’t rattle it, something few display-back Royal Oaks can claim.
Central seconds and a quick-set date make it the pragmatic counterpoint to a 15202, while early examples with serif date wheels are already under the loupe of die-hard AP spotters. Production ran for roughly 2006-2011 before the 41 mm 15400 took the baton.
This piece has just returned from Le Brassus where it was in for a service at Audemars Piguet. The watch is since then unworn.
